🧩 Solving messy, high-impact problems
I studied film and human-centered design at Pitzer College — two disciplines rooted in storytelling, collaboration, and making abstract ideas tangible. In college, I worked on film sets as a producer. I found I loved wearing multiple hats; not just to keep things moving, but to help every person on set do their best work. That translated surprisingly well to startups.
At Aloa, I joined a lean content team and quickly found myself juggling SEO, managing 5+ freelancers, and putting out fires when systems broke down. As the team grew, I shifted into onboarding and training — building the documentation and workflows we wished we had from day one. That’s where I realized I love building systems 0→1. And I love when they actually work for people.
From there, I joined Subject, a more mature edtech startup, where I had to adapt to existing systems and find ways to improve visibility and handoffs between support and success teams. It taught me how to scale with care and how to collaborate with leadership on systems that stick.
At the same time, I was consulting with Digital By Creatives, a creative agency in growth mode. I stepped back into builder mode, designing onboarding, project handoffs, and cross-functional briefs from scratch. That work deepened during the Digital Business Manager Bootcamp, where I formalized the skills I’d already been practicing and picked up tools to do it more efficiently.
